Travel awards available!
Academic institutions or local sections are encouraged to apply for travel awards on behalf of your graduate students or undergraduate students. Each travel award is for $500 and is expected to support multiple students. The Midwest Regional Board expects to award up to 10 graduate and 10 undergraduate awards. Please apply by September 18!
Congratulations to the Award Winners!
Several Midwest Regional ACS awards will be presented at the 2026 MWRM during the Awards Banquet. Congratulations to the award winners! These awards include:
- 2026 American Chemical Society (ACS) Midwest Award: Young-Shin Jun (Washington University in St. Louis)
- 2026 ACS Division of Chemical Education Midwest Award for Excellence in High School Teaching: Katy Dornbos (Firth, Nebraska)
- 2026 ACS Midwest Regional Partners for Progress and Prosperity (P3) Award: Joe Hardimon (Jost Chemical), Eden Tesfu (St. Louis Local Section), Debanjana Ghosh (Southern Illinois, Edwardsville)
- 2026 E. Ann Nalley Midwest Region Award for Volunteer Service to the ACS: Catherine Eichhorn (University of Nebraska, Lincoln)

- This award recognizes “those who have made meritorious contributions to the advancement of pure or applied chemistry or chemical education" in the Midwest Region
- A symposium in honor of the recipient will be organized by the nominator

- 2026 Stanley C. Israel Regional Award for Advancing Diversity in the Chemical Sciences
- To recognize individuals and/or institutions that have advanced diversity in the chemical sciences and significantly stimulated or fostered activities that promote inclusiveness within the region. Sponsored by the Committee on for Minority Affairs of the American Chemical Society
