Attending

Shannon Washburn, Mishelle Hay McCamment (Agriculture), Lisa Last (Architecture, Planning & Design), Alice Niedfeldt (Business Administration), Di Murphy, Roger Schiffrecke (Education), Andy Fund (Engineering), Scott Schlender (Graduate School), Bronwyn Fees (Health & Human Sciences), Susan Cooper, Charlotte Pfaff (Registrar's Office), Nick Brown (Admissions), Jo Maseberg-Tomlinson (Global Campus), Kathy Sanders (Polytechnic), Jan Elsasser, John Letourneau, Chaching Ma (ITS-ISO), Jason Maserberg-Tomlinson (Student Access Center)

New Business

  • McCammant: Add link to DARS from NCAA Tracking Tab in “Student Grades” screen, similar to graduation work area. Now must open DARS in a different area, so having it in NCAA would be more efficient (similar to Work Graduation Applications). Cooper will send in a request.

ITS Update (Elsasser)

Registrar's Office Updates (Cooper/Pfaff)

    • 9/25-27, 11/1 & 11/2 - Completed processes for spring enrollment period.
    • 10/10 - Internship survey opens tomorrow for students.
    • 10/14 - Advising Survey opens.
    • 10/28 - Enrollment begins.
    • 11/1 - Last day to drop regular session course w/W.
    • 11/14 - INR reports distributed.
    • 12/2 - Summer & Fall Schedules Close.
    • 12/23 - Grades due by 5 p.m.
  • Define full time undergraduate enrollment as 12 credits for Summer to aid in compliance with federal financial aid regulations. This is a change from 9 credit hours. 6 hours will be required to meet half-time enrollment status. Registrar’s Office is working on needed changes to make this happen for Summer 2020.
  • Military/veteran data: Will be emailing students to ask them to self-report military status around the early enrollment period. Changed the wording of the questions to clarify.
  • PUM 14 testing: Quarterly KSIS upgrade will go into production this weekend. Testing now.
  • Changes for Centrally Scheduled Classrooms (KSIS/25Live): Changing terminology from General Use Classrooms to Centrally Scheduled Classrooms in KSIS so terminology is consistent on both 25 Live and KSIS. There will eventually be a new way to request a Centrally Scheduled Classroom (not ready yet).
  • Future term calendar updates: At suggestion of SFA, for holiday breaks of 5 days or more, the Saturday and Sunday following the break will be considered a holiday, as well, to be sure online classes adhere to the holiday break. At 9/10/19 Faculty Senate meeting, addition of a Fall Break was not approved, so no changes. Spring Break will always be the 9th week of the term. Fall 2024 will be like Fall 2019 – later start and quick turn around for grades.
  • Other: Still working on gathering information from last month’s class permissions discussion. Will share at a future meeting.
  • Received a request for some possible enhancements including adding information to faculty class roster to show when the student enrolled or dropped from a course. Will submit a request for this in January. Another request was received to add a field to KSU Advisor Center to indicate whether a student is in a dual or concurrent degree program. Waiting to see where the dual/concurrent degree proposal currently before Faculty Senate goes before moving forward. The group supports a “wait and see” approach for now.

Undergraduate Admissions Updates (Brown):

  • Janie Sackrider is retiring mid-December after 40 years at K-State.

KSIS Projects/Enhancements Updates

  • KSIS to Cloud:(Letourneau): Making progress. Tentative plan to move KSIS starting November 21 and could last through the weekend. Links to KSIS will need updated after KSIS is live in new environment.

Next meeting:

Washburn moved and Sanders seconded a motion to move start time of ARPS to 9:30 a.m. beginning in November. Motion passed. Next meeting is Wednesday, November 12, 2019 | 4061 Business Building
