ARPS Committee Meeting Notes November 13, 2019 - 9:30 - 10:20 A.M.

4061 Business Building

Attending

Shannon Washburn, Mishelle Hay McCamment (Agriculture), Lisa Last (Architecture, Planning & Design), Sonya Baker (Arts & Sciences), Roger Schiffrecke (Education), Andy Fund (Engineering), Scott Schlender (Graduate School), Mary Anne Andrews (Health & Human Sciences), Susan Cooper, Charlotte Pfaff (Registrar's Office), Nick Brown (Admissions), Kathy Burkholder (Global Campus), Kathy Sanders (Polytechnic), John Letourneau, Chaching Ma (ITS-ISO), Rebecca Gould (ITS-ITAC)

New Business

  • McCammant: When advisors are assigned, when adding a new row often the person adding the new advisor is not deleting the previous advisor so old advisor is still attached to the student, causing problems in SSC. Sometimes the old advisor appears in KSIS Student Center, sometimes not. Report called Advisors/Advisees should indicate any problems but it’s not functioning correctly. ITS will investigate. Washburn suggested sending a reminder to users about the issue.

ITS Update (Gould/Letourneau)

  • See IT Update Blog for updates.
  • Cooper asked about concerns for the slow speed of DARS experienced during testing. Letourneau shared that users should notify ITS if we experience ongoing problems/slowness. Charlotte is the point of contact for Registrar’s Office systems (KSIS, DARS).

  • PeopleTools fixes in KSIS to Cloud migration: With an upgraded version of PeopleTools being included with the SCI-Cloud migration project, some outstanding issues found in the CS9.2/PT upgrade have been now resolved.
    • LONG CLASSIC PAGE WITH NO RIGHT SIDE SCROLL BAR WITHIN NAVIGATION COLLECTION: When a page that is long vertically is navigated to using the Navigator, then there is a right side scroll bar on the page. Navigating to the same page within a navigation collection, then there is no right side scroll bar
      • Even when using the tab to display the page using full screen no right scroll bar is present The user can still scroll down using the mouse or down arrows, but has no right scroll bar if they are used to using that. Example: Navigator>Campus Community>Student Services Center>Degree Audit (DARS) has scroll bar
      • Dars Support tile>Dars Audit Request has no scroll bar Navigator>Curriculum Management>Course Catalog>Course Catalog has scroll bar
      • Class Scheduling tile>Course Catalog has no scroll bar
    • RETURN TO PREVIOUS PAGE LINKS NOT WORKING IN NAVIGATION COLLECTION:
      • Navigated to Quick Enroll via Enrollment Support tile Selected a class for a student, clicked class link to see Class Detail page Click “Return to Quick Enrollment” link at bottom of page and it does nothing
      • Navigated to Quick Enroll via Navigator (Records & Enrollment>Enroll Students>Quick Enroll a Student) Selected a class for a student, clicked class link to see Class Detail page Click “Return to Quick Enrollment” link at bottom of page and user is correctly returned to Quick Enroll
    • INCLUDE/CORRECT HISTORY WITHIN NAVIGATION COLLECTIONS DOES NOT WORK: Navigate to a back-office page within a navigation collection. Search and find a student record. Click Correct History button. The user is then returned to the search page, rather than having all records displayed in correct history mode. The same occurs for Include History button. The buttons work fine when navigating directly to the page Examples of tiles/pages where this does not work:
      • Student Systems Support tile>Instructor/Advisor table
      • Records Support tile>Student Program/Plan
    • QUERY MANAGER WITHIN NAVIGATION COLLECTION: Query Manager doesn’t work right when in Nav Collection. If I go through the Navigator Menu it opens just fine.
    • NEW WINDOW ISSUE: When using “New Window” link to open a second window, navigating to a page using tiles and Navigation Collections caused an error in the second window; using the Nav Bar worked fine.

Undergraduate Admissions Updates (Brown):

  • UA3 holds (applied to HS students to prevent them from enrolling in another course) – no one was pulling those off when the student graduated from high school, so they are cleaning up that process. UA2 holds – still some on; contact Admissions with questions. Scholarship priority deadline December 1 – will likely be backlogged, so anticipate slower response time than normal.

KSIS Projects/Enhancements Updates

  • KSIS to Cloud: Covered in ITS Update.
