Registrar’s Office Updates (Pfaff)

See < http://www.k-state.edu/registrar/faculty-staff/deadlines/>. I/NR reporting with change with new Incomplete policy coming.

  • In next three calendars Spring Break is moved a week earlier to adjust for the KBOR meeting. Enrollment start date will be addressed in Calendar meeting next week.
  • At graduation all Incompletes will roll to F. Lists will come out beforehand. There is discussion on how this will effect multiple degree students.
  • Curriculog training on Wed Nov 7 10 -11:30, Calvin 306

Undergraduate Admissions Updates (Blankley)

Nov 14 – Transfer student enrollment, Nov. 1- Scholarship deadline.

They pulled lists of students missing transcripts or scores and put holds on a handful of students. For Spring semester, they will not have holds for incomplete file until mid February.

Strategic Enrollment Management

Voting to use the common application, as well as the regular application. One for freshman, one for transfer – nothing for international, etc. Hopes to bring in more out-of-state students with this option.

Projects/Enhancements recently completed (Letourneau)

  • DARS request page project – moved to production beginning of October
  • Added SSC tile in Student Center; in Connect top of page navigation – Brad is also trying to get it on KSU webpage, they will assist in getting that done!

Current projects/Enhancements

General Data Protection Regulation (European Union Privacy Law eff 5/25/2108) – Business Analysis (Nielsen/Pfaff)

Making good progress and coming to some finality. Legal counsel has shared various documents with privacy notices that were submitted. Scheduled presentations with outside legal counsel on Nov. 16 to receive direct requirements needed to be in compliance. Blakely – We need to inform students that we are using their information such as race & ethnicity. If we are asking for it, we must ask for consent and track it. This is not a good marketing tool for prospective students! Even though this is for EU students, we need to be prepared to apply it across campus with all students.

Fluid Class Search and Enrollment (Letourneau)

It is not completed yet. They are working with classes that can be GR/UG. If it is moved to Cloud, it could complicate things.

Track Student Military Affiliation (Blankley)

Mike Ediger is developing page in KSIS in Student Center for students to go in and update. Not sure how we communicate it with students to complete the info – maybe with password update.

Student Data Warehouse (Letourneau)

Work continues to be done on daily snapshot, transfer work, tests, etc. They hope to have done in next couple weeks. Working to make the environment safe – where will that go – Cloud? Gary Pratt is looking at bringing in a consultant to figure out the data analytic requirement to work with Strategic Enrollment Management.

Department Center (Letourneau)

Now available to Dean’s office role, student access center, and student life.

Preferred Names for Faculty in various components (Letourneau)

Changed to show preferred name in class search, textbook search, and all places students see.

Updates – Mischelle

ImageNow issues.

Concerns about updates and broken things in projects that are not completed. It is also not workable on Macs. The budget has not allowed them to rehire people to maintain it. Checking to see if Highland will host it or find another host. Needs updates, but not sure of money.
