KSIS move to Cloud—hosted by Sierra-Cedar on AWS (Wilson)

All three systems will be moved into a cloud environment. It will have an effect on developers having access to the cloud. A decision will be made in a month, and it will take four months to get a process into place.

ITS Organization Changes (Wilson/Gould)

The plan is being presented to President Cabinet next week, then will be shared with the rest of the campus.

Duo--dual factor authentication (Gould)

Process is rolling out soon, everyone will be using it by fall.

Hale progress

They are currently working on roof and hope to have first floor ready for F2019!

Registrar’s Office Updates (Pfaff) – https://www.k-state.edu/registrar/faculty-staff/deadlines/

Jan. 14 - class capacity reports daily for two weeks beginning, Feb. 1 – set up KSIS calendar for future academic years – 2020-21, Feb 4 – instructor drop for non-attendance due, Feb 20 -26– batch application processing for early enrollment

New Incomplete Policy – After grades posted, a list of Incompletes was sent out to college representatives, another list was sent again this week. Immediately after posting degrees, all Incompletes will be turned to F. Then the Honors report is run. Since all grades for Graduating seniors must be in a week early than degrees post, the date that Incompletes must be completed must match. The email to student about the Incompletes caused many emails back to Records office, it will need to be tweaked before being sent out next time.

In S19 the process will cover the I grades prior to F18 and will run as always, but new version for F18 and later that changes I to F even if student is not enrolled. Changing I and NR reports process, Incomplete form will be students’ responsibility, Dean’s office will enter extensions in KSIS. Working to get graduates the information as they apply.

Final exams – CAPP Representatives Lisa Last, Alison Wheatly, and Charlotte Pfaff – They are working to update policy and guidelines in the forms and process so that room scheduling can be better utilized.

Today the new graduate global campus non-degree application will be moved to a new form.

College and Department name changes – what needs to happen to make this happen in KSIS? For example, HE is the code for Human Ecology. I t won’t change but the description needs to change. A process needs to be developed that will cover all places the change needs to be made.

Catalog annual update – Shannon Castleberry will be putting reminders in K-State Today to send in updates. Due June 1.

Sandy Lumb, Athletic Certification Officer is retiring Jan 31. Jan 30 is reception to celebrate her 18 years at K-State.

Undergraduate Admissions Updates (Blankley)

Orientation next Friday – About 100 students are registered but we are expecting more. Matriculation will begin on Monday,

Holds for incomplete files will be held until census day for Spring. Students need to check their task tile in KSIS.

Admission Summary – External Academic Summary – Added if they are accredited or not. The flag shows current accreditation only – if it was not accredited earlier, it does not show, so you still need to watch DARS to see if it is used.

Still working on Common Application, we would like to start using before March, so we can use for F2020 admits.

Linda Horgan is retiring on January 31.

KSIS Projects/Enhancements updates (Letourneau)

Fluid Class Search and Enrollment – testing is ongoing.

Track Student Military Affiliation – still working on back-office parts.

Global Campus Confirmation Email Enhancements – ready for testing.

Change to Names Viewed in Search – remove primary name if there is a preferred name. You can still search on Primary, but Preferred will show. They are working to get everyone into the system.

KSU Class Center in KSIS allows you to see current enrollment for each class – showing enrollment capacity. It can be found under curriculum management.

March 13, 2019, Spring Break – ARPS meeting will move to March 6!

Additional Comments:

Mishelle Hay McCamment asked if other colleges have problems with students wanting to take classes A/P/F so it doesn’t hurt GPA. She said they had students taking classes at other universities so the grades wouldn’t hurt change their KSU GPA.

Faculty Senate – Todd Easton -discussed a proposal for university wide concurrent bachelor and master or graduate certificate programs. Discussion will occur at the CAPP meeting.
