Undergraduate Admissions Office Updates (Blankley)

  • Transfer Sp15 New student orientation – Nov 19th. Expect approximately 150-200 students.
  • Office moves in mid-November.
  • All document volumes high, busiest time of year for volume.
  • Assistant Director position offered, pending back ground check.
  • Exception Admits for Summer/Fall 2015 – 2 groups, more information to follow in spring.
  • Advisor Assignment – Security updated, pending training.
  • New remote pilot program partnership with Tech and Aviation/Johnson County, Global and Air Associates. Not selective, but has some enrollment restrictions.

Registrar's Office Updates (Pfaff)

  • Bundle 35 – Class search changes, student self service. Slated for production over holiday break.
  • K-State 8 tags (for 1-2 hour classes) – Alternate tag could be a course attribute, reports to keep data in sync will be created.
  • Fall 2014 - Upcoming important dates – 11/18 for incomplete grade reports, extension requests due by 12/18. 12/12 grade rosters will be created for Fall 2014.
  • Fall 2014 - Grades and holiday schedule – Grades due at noon on 12/23rd. iSIS access will be reduced the afternoon of the 23rd so that grade posting job will not be slowed down. Dean Wilson made a motion to limit iSIS access, Diana Blake and Monty will work with ISO to determine best method to reduce access. Any reduced access will be announced frequently and communicated to the campus population via a K-State Today announcement.
  • Spring 2015 – Enrollment – Going well, some reported issues with prompts for instructors, but no solutions as yet.
  • Advisor Assignment/Survey – Process review ongoing
  • Dean's Extract - new fields needed? REG will be updating headers to be more useful, HS GPA, College Graduation Dt and Hrs for Dismissal were items requested to be added to this report.
  • Interfaces – REG will be identifying and training users outside of the REG office to run their own reports.
  • University Honors Program – Program would like a way to track their students, is a new Plan code the correct action. Hoovey with FS/AAC reported that a new plan code was approved by Faculty Senate at their last meeting on Nov 10th. Diana Blake with ISO will follow-up on this project and plan future meetings for discussion.

  • Assistant Registrar for Student Systems – Congratulations, new hire is Shannon Castleberry.

iSIS Projects Recently Completed (Blake)

  • Bundle 34 – In Production.
  • Parent Data for Foundation/Alumni Association – A file is being produced from iSIS to the Alumni Association. Disclaimers have been added on application and designee process.
  • Oracle database critical patch – Complete 11/8th

iSIS Current Projects

  • KSU Advisor Center - Release 2 (Blake)​ – Advisee Detail pages, target release date is February 2015.
  • Sexual Assault/Bystander Intervention Training (Blake) – Requirements and regulations for this project keep changing, so implementation is deferred to Spring 2015. There will be no holds, just need to make sure information is clearly available.
  • iSIS Mobile (Blake) – Specifications have been drafted for the RFP and to purchasing by 11/13th. Ken Staffords unit will fund this purchase.
  • Acquire Missing SSNs (Blake) – Div of Financial Services, developing a way to contact via email to ask students to self-report their SSN, domestic will get a hold, International students will not get hold.
  • Track Student Military Info (Blake) – Requirements have been gathered and Phase 1 will begin in December
  • iSIS Integrations (Letourneau)
    • OrgSync Integration – would like to create an automated process to update information from iSIS to Org Sync.
    • Canvas ELP Integration – moving away from KSOL classic.
  • CCAPIC (Course and Curriculum Approval Process Improvement Committee) (Pfaff) – 3 demonstrations complete. Have identified Curriculog as ideal product.
  • Converged Infrastructure (L. Wilson) – Is going slowly. Currently 6 months behind schedule. Have the hardware, but no electricity running to it.

Other Items:

  • DARS Report Changes – Currently report puts primary advisor on report, regardless of plan selected. Changes will have the report print the advisor listed for the plan selected for the report. Any “What If” reports will leave the advisor name blank.
  • Designated Access – Monty inquired if this was going to be expanded to other information or access? Diana with ISO indicated no new activity is currently happening with this topic, but would require a project sponsor to initiate any new development.
  • Automate Prog/Plan Changes – Dean Wilson asked that this project be resumed again.
