Proiect Updates (Blake, Cooper, Crow)

DARS Upgrade (Cooper)

An upgrade to the next version of DARS has been approved. The upgraded system will allow exceptions to be entered on the Web, eliminating the need for clientNPN. Aesthetic enhancements and interactive reports are included. Cooper will send URL for demo.

Academic Users Needs Assessment (Blake)

Student focus groups were completed last spring and common themes are listed on the Wiki. Adviser focus groups will be completed this fall.

Post-Baccalaureate Minors (Blake)

Work on tech tasks is moving ahead. Provost will email minor directors regarding implementation and training.

Designated Access (Blake)

Project statement for "designated access" to educational records was shared. Phase 1 will enable designated access to financial information by designees (parents, spouse) who have been granted access by student.

Student Planner (Crow)

A "last offered" report will be run to facilitate cleanup of inactive courses before planner goes live. Finalize at next meeting.

Post Enrollment Requirements Checking "PERC" (Crow)

Report can be run by course in conjunction with failed requisite report. Initially ability to run reports will be part of Dean's Office role only.

Automatic Grade Changes (Crow)

Problem encountered: faculty ability to change XF and W, which should not be an option. Should there be a time limit for online grade changes? Decision referred to CAPP.

Operational Topics (Crow)

Grade posting changes:

Grades for NST classes will be posted seven days a week. Access to enter NST grades changed from p.m. to a.m. Work is being done on problem with NST classes ending within the five day window to report grades for regular term classes.

Student worker roles:

Student worker roles were reviewed in response to requests for modifications. Reminder: require FERPA training for student workers. On-line FERPA training should be available this spring. Updated role definitions were requested and will be available at October meeting.

Reserve seating:

Reserve seating will flow into online Class Schedule resulting in message "Only reserved seats remain" when class is open but only available to defined students. A problem has been identified: overriding class capacity results in a negative seat number.

Graduation subcommittee:

An update meeting will be scheduled soon.

Graduation work area:

Two folders (Registrar, College) have been established in the graduation work area.

Removing iSIS access for faculty no longer at K-State (Blake)

When should access to technology systems (iSIS, Zimbra, KSOL) be terminated? (More information is needed.) Should it be the same for everyone? (Yes.)

iSIS Trainer Search(Gould)

Interviews will be conducted next week. (September 19-23)
