Beginning of Semester Reminders (Crow)

  • Refer to Dean’s Office Deadlines on Registrar’s Office website (under Faculty/Staff).
  • Graduation folder will be reorganized to include a College folder and a Registrar folder. Reports can be run from either.

Post Baccalaureate Minor (Gould)

Refer to July email with links to information about the Post Baccalaureate minor (Undergraduate Catalog, Admissions Office Procedures, Registrar’s Office Minors Processing Changes).

iSIS Trainer Position (Gould)

Internal search for iSIS trainer was approved. Position is posted and review of applications will begin August 15. What about training for new advisers? Contact Fred Darkowfdarkow@ksu.edu or Help Desk for interim training.

SSN Assignment Changes (Blake)

Social Security Administration will begin assigning Social Security Numbers beginning with “8” which will cause problems with K-State WIDs that all begin with “8.” This will impact multiple systems (Student Financial Assistance, Financial Services, Human Resources, ISO, administrative offices, AVOW, others). More information is available on the wiki.

Included in CS Bundle 22 (Blake)

will probably move to production in mid-September.

iSIS Feedback Sessions (Blake)

Report on student feedback is being completed. Feedback sessions for advisers are being planned for fall -- mid-September through mid-October was suggested. Sessions will include 8-10 advisers per session, and both undergraduate and graduate advisers. Send list of advisers to Diana Blake. Send emails to assistant deans for distribution.

iSIS Wiki (Blake)

Dashboard, project status and timeline were demonstrated on iSIS Wiki.

Items from List (Crow)

Planner. Some “when offered” information is still missing. Old information (old classes no longer offered) needs to be inactivated, but impact on DARS is still being investigated. Guidelines for inactivating courses not taught need to be found or developed. Can a report be run identifying last date course was offered? A decision on how to proceed needs to be made at next meeting for fall implementation of planner.

Post-enrollment Requirement Checking (PERC).

Committee (Brad Cunningham, David Delker, Larry Satzler and Mike Crow) has not met, but will.

FERPA.

A self-assessment modeled on the security training may be developed to improve understanding and enforcement of FERPA. One idea is for an on-line 10 question (10 minute) assessment to be completed annually or every other year.
