Meeting Notes March 6, 2008- 10 A.M.

Foundation Center

Next Meeting:

Wednesday, March 12, 2008 at 9:00 AM, preceding CAPP

Attending:

Mike Crow (iSIS), Jennifer Gehrt (LASER), Donnelly (AG), Niedfeldt (BA), Perl (ED), Leonard (EN), Karen Pence (HE), David Delker (TC), Linda Morse (DCE)

Questions about Security Access

Mike Crow requested that User ID and department be provided when asking about security status. There continues to be a backlog of security access forms to be processed. Individuals are e-mailed when access is approved.

Question:

How can we tell what access individuals have? The list Mike provided (2/27/08 SR role members by org) can be sorted by role or by person to see if an individual has multiple roles.

Question:

What access will faculty users have? Access will be based on instructor/adviser table. Instructor/adviser table is updated in the Class Schedule development – faculty have to be assigned to an area to be listed as instructor for a course in that area. Faculty can access roster and grade roster.

Question:

What if adviser can see Service Indicator, but can’t remove the adviser flag? That’s probably a “SACR” problem – contact Mike Crow.

Advising service indicators have been applied. Holds have been moved. Clear your browser cache if you are having problems.

Campus Community

A subcommittee will look at “3-C’s” and academic standing.

Fall 2008 Room Scheduling/Spring 2009 Class Schedule

An e-mail will go out soon to class schedulers that F08 room scheduling has moved from Sharon Hauck to Kim Jackson in Facilities.

Question:

Will classroom schedules (e.g., SRFS, SRFL in SIS) be available in iSIS? Mike will check. (Event planners and others find on-line room utilization chart helpful.)

S09 Class Schedule will be released to class schedulers soon.

Search Results when Searching for Student Record

Question:

Can College or Curriculum be added to the “Search Results”? It would be helpful when there are multiple students with the same name. Answer: Probably not.

Access to Test Scores

Question:

It is important for advisers to have access to test scores -- will all advisers have access to all test scores? Mike will check out adviser access to test scores.

New Forms

New “Class Permission” and “Schedule Request” forms are available from the Registrar’s Office in Anderson. Pick up a supply for distribution within colleges.

Requisites

Requisites marked as approved in CS2 will be attached to courses on Friday. May 1 will be the next opportunity to attach requisites.

Enrollment Pilot

Monday, March 10 – “pre-pilot” enrollment for about 25 student employees in the Registrar’s Office and LASER project.
Wednesday, March 12 – enrollment pilot begins for selected students.
March 12-17 – survey open to individual students in the pilot, advisers, and task force members.

Question:

Is there a “hotline” for enrollment problems? Contact iTAC Help Desk.

APR/Grades

Will be discussed in mid-April.

iSIS/SIS

“IP” courses do not match due to dual entries out of synch. Backdates in iSIS are a challenge and there is a backlog.

Sub Plans in “What If”

They’re looking into it. “What If” lists need to be cleaned up. Respond to Charlotte’s request to review current status of Plans and Subplans.
