Mike Crow

  • Commented that the next phase of iSIS implementation will make the previous phases seem relaxed by comparison.
  • Distributed and reviewed “Fall 2007 Implementation Activities Directly affecting Live Production in iSIS” distributed initially at Class Schedule Dry Run evaluation meeting.
  • From “Hot Topics” list, reviewed item 6) Assigning an adviser
    • DO and department offices will do updates. HR will do nightly downloads. HR will populate the advisor box the first time (in Sept 07) but colleges will have to maintain. See example on p 2 of “Assigning Advisor” document. Using “00000” for “Acad Org” may not be sufficient – may need lower level. PeopleSoft will download “soon,” then Mike will check.
  • Distributed and reviewed “Security Overview – iSIS.”
    • Types of access
      • Dean’s role – display
      • Dean’s Office role – enter
      • Dept Head role – display
      • Dept Head Office role – enter
    • Agreed to grant Dean/DO/Dept Head/Dept Head Office access to update advisors and instructors. All will have access but updates may be done only in dean’s offices, by dept offices, or shared responsibility among DO and dept offices according to current practice.
    • On page 2 of document under SR CDeanOfc, codes were clarified:
      • d = display
      • n = no access
      • u = (internal note) = update
      • u/d = update or display
  • From “Hot Topics” list, reviewed 9) Waitlist (W/L) issues
    • Encourage faculty to allow system to work rather than maintaining separate personal waitlists
    • DO can override waitlist if required
    • Waitlist will be purged after 7th calendar day of semester for full-term classes because instructor’s permission is required to enroll after 7th day. Waitlist purge date(s) for “non-standard” (e.g., shorter than full term) classes are “to be determined.”
    • Question was raised about how students will find drop deadlines – will there be a calendar function? Log in to self-service as a student (use the “list of 30”) to see what students will see.
  • Reviewed handout: “Program/Plan Stack Dual Maintenance Plan”
    • End of August – will migrate DO roles.
    • Later in September – will migrate Dept Office roles.
    • Forms for PROD will duplicate what was submitted for CS1.
    • Next week, will release Dept Office role to CS1.
    • Mike may do a spreadsheet on roles (display/update).
  • Question was raised about training for department people – training will be a CHALLENGE.
  • DARS update – progress made. “SQR is coming soon.” Running an audit.
  • Sharon Hauck’s list of schedulers was circulated for review and changes.
