DARS Subplan Update

DARS subplan update: loading and conversion has started; should be available next week.
Concerns:

  • Can run only current year DARS
  • Cannot run DARS subplans

Primary subplans were discussed. Is there any way to designate primary subplans? Mike will check with consultant.

Class Rosters

Can class roster be added to adviser’s role?

Academic Registration Holds (ARH)

Academic Registration Holds have been applied. Send Mike names and eIDs of persons who should have authority to place/release ARH.

Roles

Is a summary of what’s included in each role available? Needs to be updated. Mike distributed list of college holds and those with place/release authority.

Transfer Course Recognition/Transfer Enrollment

There have been some problems with transfer equivalent courses not being recognized to meet pre-requisites. Check with Mary Sier – may be an unseen “extra space” added when the course number was entered and is an easy fix.

Lack of recognition of UNKWN courses reviewed and applied for requirements is irritating.

Only students who have registered for Transfer Enrollment on April 28 and 29 will be matriculated on Monday (April 21) and service indicators applied. Students will need to activate their eIDs. A copy of instructions would be helpful to coach students.

HELP

Getting help from iTAC help desk has had varying results and sometime circular referrals.

Reports

Go out and review reports. See “summary across sections” report to see enrollment in all sections.

Who to contact about reports? Robert Auten’s team.

Advisers List of Advisees

Action on removing inactive advisees will be considered after AS reports back.

Enrollment and Waitlist

  • iSIS allows 21 enrolled and waitlist hours. Student can be enrolled in a section and also on the waitlist for other section(s) and not exceed 21 hrs. – but will never move from waitlist because already enrolled in a section.
  • Problems getting OFF a waitlist are a setup issue. Remember “PEG”: primary = enrolled = graded. They are checking/correcting setup on about 750 sections.

Pre-req Problem

Student has “F” in pre-req course, but is currently re-taking the course. iSIS recognizes the “F” but not the retake in progress.

SIS/iSIS Cross Reference

Cory and Miriam have developed an interactive reference that identifies where SIS elements are found in iSIS. It has to be installed on computers.
Suggestion: provide in a CD/DVD format to each college.

iSIS “Go-live” Celebration

Jennifer Gehrt will send an e-mail invitation to a May 2, 4-6 pm celebration at Snyder Family Stadium – invite key people to attend.

ACT/SAT Conversion

New ACT files were loaded into iSIS for incoming FR admission decisions only.
Questions for conversion of old data (past ACT/SAT records):

  • How far back? (2000)
  • How complete? (Scores only including Composite and subtest scores – English, Math, Reading, Science)

We will continue to get profiles at time of student enrollment.

Modifying Requsites

What’s the procedure?
May 1, all requisites not previously moved will be moved.
Adjusting current and adding new requisites is a manual procedure.
Test in CS2, then cut and paste into PROD.
Be sure to designate effective date – to be effective Fall 2008, date 01/01/08.

Conversion

They are working to convert IDs for summer. Summer 2008 info will convert on 8/18/08.

Readmits

Is there a way to add former students/readmits from long ago into iSIS? Contact Sarah Blankley in Admissions Office. Old transfer work will be maintained in DARS, but some readmits predate DARS.

Upcoming Discussions

  • Grades and Graduation. Discuss at next meeting.
  • iSIS Changes. Compile a list of “it sure would be nice if iSIS. . .” (suggested improvements) for discussion at some later date.

Date and Time for Next Meeting.

Next meeting will be April 30 at 10:30 AM in 113 Seaton.
