Area(s) of Specialization

Intracellular protein transport in health and diseases; Lysosomal storage disorders; Neuronal ceroid lipofuscinosis

Research Focus

We are interested in intracellular protein transport in general. We have recently identified a negative regulator that modulates the COPI-mediated retrograde transportfrom Golgi to ER. Besides the fundamental research, we are also interested in understanding the mechanisms behind transport defects in diseases. Currently we are focusing on one particular type of lysosomal storage disorders, Neuronal-Ceroid Lipofuscinosis.
