Call for Posters:

We are thrilled to invite all undergraduate and graduate students working in the field of Artificial Intelligence to showcase their cutting-edge research at the upcoming Heartland AI Symposium. This event brings together K-State with partner institutions from across the region—the University of Kansas and their Medical Center, the University of Missouri, the University of Nebraska, and Wichita State University—creating a space for exploring the intersection of AI and the humanities, and for sharing knowledge, insights, and advancements in the growing field of AI.

Student AI Research Poster Session: Wednesday, November 11, 2026
Time: 1:00 p.m.–3:00 p.m.
Format: In-person only at the K-State Student Union, Kansas State University, Manhattan, Kansas

About the Symposium:

The Heartland AI Symposium is a hybrid, three-day, regional, interdisciplinary event that brings together students, faculty, educators, industry professionals and community members to explore how artificial intelligence is shaping education, agriculture, business, creativity and everyday life. Through engaging keynote talks, hands-on workshops, live demonstrations and community town halls, panels and presentations, participants learn how to use AI tools responsibly while examining their ethical, social and environmental impacts. The symposium welcomes beginners and experienced users alike, creating an open space for learning, discussion and collaboration across disciplines such as the humanities, computer science, agriculture and library sciences.

Poster Topics:

We invite undergraduate and graduate researchers and scholars currently engaged in research related to Artificial Intelligence to submit abstracts and participate in the in-person Student AI Research Poster Session during the Heartland AI Symposium. Topics of interest include but are not limited to:

  • Machine Learning and Deep Learning,
  • Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs),
  • Natural Language Processing,
  • Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition,
  • Robotics and Autonomous Systems,
  • Human-AI Interaction, AI Ethics and Fairness,
  • Explainable AI and Interpretability,
  • AI for Healthcare and Biomedicine,
  • AI for Social Good and Sustainability,
  • Reinforcement Learning,
  • AI in Gaming and Entertainment,
  • AI in Cybersecurity and Privacy,
  • AI in Agriculture,
  • AI in Humanities,
  • and Interdisciplinary Applications of AI.

Submission Guidelines: 

To be considered for the poster presentation session, please submit an abstract of your research. The abstract should be no more than 250 words and should include:

  • a title,
  • author(s) name(s), and affiliation(s),
  • as well as faculty advisor names and affiliations.

Clearly state your research's purpose, methods, results, and conclusions (if any). Poster size requirements and presentation guidelines will be provided to accepted presenters.

Acceptance Notification:  October 18th, 2026
