For Students: Tips and tools to make the most of academic advising
Academic advising is a partnership between students and academic advisors. Every K-State student is assigned a professional academic advisor who will assist each semester with academic and career goals.
Find your academic advisor
All undergraduate students are assigned to an advisor by major. Identify your advisor by logging into Navigate and locating the Resources button. Your advisor will be listed under the People link.

Helpful Resources
Current students schedule advising appointments using Navigate. Follow these instructions to schedule an appointment:
- Login to Navigate
- On the left menu select “appointments”
- Click “schedule appointments”
- In the first drop down select “Academic Advising:
- Select which type of service you are seeking
- Pick a date and find an available time
- Confirm final details and click “Schedule” at the bottom of the screen
Colleges put in a lot of effort to ensure advising loads are balanced for academic advisors within their unit. They tend to be careful when making changes to advising assignments, as those adjustments can affect both students and advisors.
