August and September: Start Strong
Early in the semester is a great time to take steps that will set you up for success later on. Whether it's developing new study techniques, getting help setting and achieving goals, or receiving additional support for complex challenges, there's a free campus resource to help.
Academic Tools at Your Fingertips
Some students benefit from additional academic support. Start by connecting with academic coaching, tutoring services, and by downloading Navigate.
Then, consider these services to help you reach your goals:
-
Comprehensive Academic Support
Students who are first-generation, income-limited, and/or have a documented disability may be eligible to participate in TRIO Educational Supportive Services (ESS). TRIO ESS provides additional academic support, including tutoring, financial literacy support, and graduate or career preparation, to 300 students each year.
-
Learn More About Majors
If you have questions about changing majors, or want to learn more about what major might be a good fit for you, connect with an exploratory advisor.
-
Make Progress Toward Your Professional School Application
Students with a pre-law, pre-health, or pre-vet designation are assigned a pre-professional advisor, in addition to their academic advisor. Make plans to meet with your pre-professional advisor to make sure you're on track. And, if you think adding a pre-professional designation is the right fit for you, reach out to the office with questions.
