The DASSA Peer Mentoring Collaborative aligns with the DASSA Strategic Plan, focusing on key areas such as recruitment and retention, career development, well-being, and organizational effectiveness.
Welcome to the DASSA Peer Mentoring Collaborative
Through a collaborative approach with students, staff, and faculty, our initiatives aim to create a welcoming and supportive environment that promotes both personal and academic growth for our students. These initiatives support the objectives of the DASSA Strategic Plan.
Alignment with the DASSA Strategic Plan
-
- Enhancing Student Recruitment and Retention (Priority 1)
The Peer Mentoring Collaborative strengthens recruitment and retention efforts by connecting students with peer mentors who provide support, foster a sense of belonging, and encourage academic engagement, helping students thrive from their first year through to graduation. - Promoting Career Development and Applied Learning (Priority 2)
Through programs like LEAD 312: Peer Leader Practicum and leadership workshops, the Collaborative offers hands-on mentoring and leadership experiences. These opportunities help students develop career-ready skills, aligning with DASSA's goal of promoting applied learning and career preparedness. - Enhancing Well-being Initiatives (Priority 4)
Peer leaders contribute to campus-wide well-being efforts by providing mental health support, fostering resilience, and building supportive peer networks. This aligns with DASSA’s commitment to embedding well-being in all aspects of student life and ensuring a holistic approach to success. - Optimizing Organizational Effectiveness (Priority 6)
The Peer Mentoring Collaborative enhances organizational effectiveness by creating a cohesive model for peer mentoring, standardizing training, and providing faculty and staff with resources.
- Enhancing Student Recruitment and Retention (Priority 1)
