Kids K-State Garden Club

Submitted by Sue White

The Kids K-State Garden Club offers Saturday morning sessions introducing first through third graders to gardening. Five 50-minute sessions from 10-10:50 a.m. in April and May are planned to spark interest, present gardening basics and have fun with hands-on activities.

April 13 — All about soil and planting veggies.

April 20 — Do plants and kids need the same things?

May 4 — Climates and plants around the world and terrarium building.

May 11 — Pollinators: All about bees and decorate a bee house.

May 18 — Harvest veggies, review and a tour the gardens.

Sessions are limited to 20 kids each, and they should be accompanied by an adult. Please register by calling 785-532-3271, or email ksugardens@k-state.edu. The sessions are free but donations are welcome. Access the sessions through the K-State Gardens Visitor Center.
