Submitted by Mirna Bonilla

Kansas State University is a member institution of the Engagement Scholarship Consortium, ESC. Please see below for the various professional development opportunities available to K-State faculty, staff and students through ESC.

• ESC 2024 annual conference: Call for proposals. ESC is still accepting proposals for its annual conference Oct. 9-10 in Portland, Oregon. The 2024 conference theme will be "Pathways to Prosperity: Building Sustainable Futures through Community Engagement." The conference will provide a platform for intentional conversations about how engaged scholarship can lead to significant, positive impacts in the community and the academy. Proposals are due April 1.

• ESC Awards for Excellence in Engaged Scholarship. The scholarship recognizes exemplary institutional programs in the following categories: student, faculty, staff, community partner, institutional leadership and distinguished dissertation. Applications are due March 25.

• Apply for the Emerging Engagement Scholars Workshop. This intensive professional development program provides advanced doctoral students and early career faculty with background literature, dialogue, mentoring and workshops designed to increase their knowledge and enhance their practice of community-engaged scholarship. Proposals are due April 1.

• Engaged Scholarship Research/Creative Activities Grants Program for Faculty and Staff. The Grants Program offers financial support that helps facilitate positive outcomes for both scholars and communities. The Scholarship Committee welcomes the submission of domestic and international engaged scholarship project proposals. Applications are due May 3.
