Eighteen horticulture students from Kansas State University's horticulture and natural resources department traveled to Provo, Utah, during spring break to participate in the National Collegiate Landscape Competition.

Students competed in 30 different events such as: plant identification, irrigation design and skid steer operations.

K-State placed eighth out of 49 schools. Honorable mentions: David Culp and Timothy Pearce placed second in irrigation troubleshooting; Carter Dewey and Alana Wood placed second in safety first; and Culp placed second in small engine repair.

Additionally, five students placed in the top 10 in their respective events.

The 2024 K-State National Collegiate Landscape Competition team was advised by Cody Domenghini and Cynthia Domenghini.
