Become a certified personal trainer or instructor

K-State students are invited to become a personal trainer or group fitness instructor. Rec Services is hosting an eight-week prep course from Feb. 18-April 19 at the Rec Complex to help you become certified. 

The skills you develop in the course are applicable for K-State students wanting to become physical therapists, chiropractors, athletic trainers, strength coaches and more.

The following courses will be offered: 

  • NASM-certified personal trainer: Learn how to write safe and effective workouts based on your clients goals. 
  • AFAA-certified group fitness instructor and learn how to build a fitness workout experience for a variety of people.

These prep courses will teach you the human movement foundations and leadership skills to help prepare you for the national exam and includes the following:

  • More than 15 hours of hands-on experience and instruction.
  • Online student portal.
  • Textbook.
  • Exam voucher and re-test voucher.

The personal trainer student rate is $584 and the group fitness instructor student rate is $324. Payment plans are available.

Registration is open through Friday, Feb. 16. To register visit the administration office at the Rec Complex, through the north entrance, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, or call 785-532-6980.
