Annual campus security and fire safety reports available
Kansas State University is dedicated to helping all members of the K-State community have a positive educational experience and is fully committed to providing a safe and inclusive environment for all. As part of that commitment, the annual security and fire safety report, or Clery Report, is published each year to inform the public of information about crime on and around campus, efforts to improve campus safety and university policies. In compliance with the Higher Education Amendments of 1965, as amended, its purpose is to provide individuals with relevant information that will help them make informed decisions relating to their own safety and the safety of others. The report is updated every year and contains fire and campus crime statistics for the previous three years on campus, in certain off-campus buildings or properties that are owned or controlled by K-State, and public property as required by law.
The 2023 combined report for the Manhattan, Salina and Olathe campuses contains statistics for calendar years 2020, 2021 and 2022 and is available online at k-state.edu/report/clery/.
Anyone, including prospective students and employees, may obtain paper copies of the reports upon request at the following offices at each respective campus:
- Manhattan campus: Office of Risk and Compliance, 214 Anderson Hall, 785-532-6226.
- Salina campus: Dean's Office, 107 Kuhlman Center, 785-826-2601.
- Olathe campus: Reception desk in the main lobby, 22201 W. Innovation Drive, Olathe, 913-541-1220.
K-State continues to sponsor various initiatives to increase awareness, educate and provide resources relating to individual and university obligations under the Clery Act. One of these initiatives is the Report It webpage, a convenient global reporting website where reports — including those related to Clery Act crimes; academic violations; code of conduct violations; students of concern; discrimination, harassment, including sexual harassment; work-related incidents; access barriers; and incidents involving a minor — may be submitted. Some examples of campuswide initiatives and programs are campus security authority training, ALICE active shooter training, alcohol and drug education, Safe Zone training, the Rave Guardian app and residence hall fire safety programs.

Additionally, Kansas State University is required by law to annually notify all students, faculty and staff of alcohol and other drug policies, sanctions and the risks associated with use. The memo from President Richard Linton is available online at k-state.edu/report/clery/drug-free-schools/.
This notification provides the campus community with the following:
- Alcohol and drug programs for students and staff.
- Health risks associated with alcohol abuse and illicit drug use.
- Applicable university policies and standards of conduct and disciplinary sanctions for students and staff regarding alcohol and drug use.
- Federal and state legal sanctions.
