State Farm Insurance, through the Kansas State University Foundation, recently awarded a $25,000 State Farm Good Neighbor Citizenship Grant to Kansas State University's Powercat Financial. This was the largest State Farm grant award to Powercat Financial since grant funding began in 2011.

The grant is awarded to organizations that foster service-learning opportunities and personal financial education, such as the university's Powercat Financial program. Since 2009, the program has provided students with free financial counseling and education via a peer model where students from finance-related majors are trained to assist fellow students. State Farm has now provided annual grants to Powercat Financial totaling $168,000.

"State Farm and its area agents have been ideal partners in impacting student financial well-being at K-State," said Jodi Kaus, director of Powercat Financial. "With State Farm's support, we are able to continue to build on our financial well-being services, and the grant will allow us to assist even more students with their finances as we have expanded our peer financial counselor base to 21 students."
