National search underway to fill vacancy for assistant vice president for diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging

Kansas State University has launched a national search for an assistant vice president for diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging.

The role, which fills the existing vacancy of the former associate vice president for diversity and multicultural student affairs position previously housed in the then Division of Student Life, will collaborate alongside the vice president in support of a culture where individuals from all backgrounds are able to thrive. The assistant vice president will serve as a champion, change agent and strategic growth leader, leveraging best practices and resources across all K-State campuses.

The search committee, appointed by Rana Johnson, vice president for diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging, includes:

  • Bin Ning, associate provost and chief data officer, chair.
  • Tanya Gonzalez, interim associate provost for institutional effectiveness and professor of English.
  • Cheryl Grice, community engagement director.
  • Charlotte Self, director of employee relations and engagement.
