Gamma Phi Beta to host Moonball tournament benefiting Girls on the Run

Submitted by Caroline Barber

The Beta Upsilon chapter of Gamma Phi Beta, a registered independent student organization, will host a Moonball tournament event at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 20, at the K-State Rec Center. Moonball is a 4 vs. 4 volleyball tournament.

Moonball is the largest annual philanthropy event benefiting Girls on the Run of the Flint Hills. Gamma Phi Beta is the national sponsor of Girls on the Run International, a nonprofit organization that inspires girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum that creatively integrates running. This year, the chapter's goal is to raise $5,000 for Girls on the Run International.

The cost to participate is $50 per team of 4-6 players, and prizes will be awarded to the winning team. All funds raised through team registration, raffle ticket sales and online fundraising will directly benefit the local chapter of Girls on the Run.

All K-State students are invited to participate. Student organizations are especially encouraged to register a team, as Moonball is a great team bonding activity and also an opportunity to give back to the Manhattan community.

Visit the event website to learn more about Girls on the Run, register a Moonball team, or make a donation today. View the event flyer for more information.
