Community crime and safety perception survey

Submitted by Cheryl Grice, community engagement director

The Riley County Police Department is requesting input from the campus community regarding any possible concerns or perceptions of crime and safety in Manhattan and Riley County.

The Riley County Police Department is in the process of producing a Crime Prevention Plan to reduce crime and increase safety. One of the first steps of the planning process is to determine community needs, and it is vital for the department to seek feedback and possible concerns from the community.

K-State is an integral part of the community. While the Kansas State Police Department has primary responsibility for law enforcement on K-State campuses, Riley County police enforce laws in areas surrounding the university and in areas most frequented by students, faculty and staff.

Please complete a brief and voluntary online survey that will help Riley County police in designing its plan. The survey has seven questions with an opportunity to provide any specific feedback or concerns. If you wish to remain anonymous, please list your name and email as anonymous. This survey closes on March 8.
