Follett Higher Education Group presented the K-State Student Union with a $500,000 check to help fund the recently announced K-State Student Union renovation and expansion project.

Follett was awarded the contract to provide bookstore services to the Kansas State community and opened its doors as the K-State Campus Store on July 1.

"We are honored to be selected as your partner as the official on-campus provider for bookstore merchandise and services," said Roland “Joey” Caron, vice president of sales and operations for Follett.

The search for qualified firms to develop a detailed architectural program for the Union renovation is currently underway. The architectural programs will consist of specific space needs, conceptual plans, cost estimates and conventional renderings for the $25 million project.

"The Union is grateful for this donation, as it allows the project to move forward immediately," said Bill Smriga, Union director.

As the leading provider of bookstore services and the foremost supplier of used books in North America, Follett services 5 million students with more than 900 stores.

Information about the K-State Campus Store, its products and services can be found online.
