Governor's Water Conference Oct. 24-25

The Governor's Water Conference is Oct. 24-25 at the Hilton Garden Inn in Manhattan. This conference is sponsored by K-State Research and Extension, Kansas Center for Agricultural Resources and the Environment, the Kansas Water Office and the Kansas Water Resources Institute.

Speakers include:

  • Charles Fishman will be discussing the value of water. The author of two best-selling books, "The Big Thirst" and "The Wal-Mart Effect," he speaks nationally on economic and social issues.
  • Pat Mulroy, who oversees the Las Vegas Valley Water District and Southern Nevada Water Authority, will talk on drought management.
  • James Stack, director of the Great Plains Diagnostic Network and professor of plant pathology.

Registration and presentation or poster submission and other conference information is available online and are due by Sept. 13, or Oct. 4 for student posters.

Registration is $85 for both days or $50 for a single day. Students are $25 per day registration.
