Manhattan Municipal Band performs tonight

Submitted by Don Linn

The Manhattan Municipal Band will present its weekly concert at 7:30 tonight at City Park's Larry Norvell Band Shell.

The concert will include the traditional march "US Field Artiliery" as a salute to our soldiers. The band will also be playing Broadway favorites like "76 Trombones," an exciting medley that includes "Wabash Cannonball" titled "Thunder and the Roar" and Sousa's favorite encore: "The Roosters Lay Eggs in Kansas." K-State alumnus Zach Corpus will be the featured tuba soloist playing "The Blue Bells of Scotland" and the trombone section will be featured on "Lassus Trombone."  The weekly concerts are free and open to the public.

The band is under the direction of Frank Tracz, professor and director of bands, and composed of Kansas State University faculty and students.
