Still time to register for Kansas computing conference May 29-30

Submitted by Betsy Edwards

If Wednesday-Thursday, May 29-30, is open on your calendar, you can still attend the 2013 Conference on Higher Education Computing in Kansas, or CHECK, at Pittsburg. The event is open to everyone in higher education and provides 21 sessions covering new technologies, issues and IT services. See the conference's website for details.

The $80 registration fee includes all sessions, three meals, vendor exhibits and networking opportunities during the day-and-a-half conference. For $10 more, tour the award-winning Joplin High School's digital environment and its next-generation educational tools. The school was rebuilt in a converted big-box store facility during the aftermath of a catastrophic tornado that hit Missouri in 2011.

Five K-Staters from the Information Technology Assistance Center are presenting at the conference. Joshua Gibson and Eric Dover will cover "Marketing your Campus to the New Generation — Implementing a Digital Sign Solution." Loren Wilson and Miriam Clark will present "Business Intelligence Initiative at K-State." Shalin Hai-Jew will present "Maltego Radium: Mapping Network Ties and Identities across the Internet."
