Human Capital Services Assessment comments now available

Submitted by Kirk Schulz

Dear Faculty and Staff,

Last month the Human Capital Services Assessment report and recommendations were shared with the university community online as well as during stakeholder meetings and open forums. The 30-day comment period closed on May 10, and I invite you to read the compiled results of your feedback now available on the K-State 2025 website.

The assessment, a key university priority this past year, was undertaken to evaluate the capacity and readiness of our human resources, EEO, and Title IX structures, processes, and services to support building and meeting the needs of the highly qualified, diverse workforce envisioned in the K-State 2025 visionary plan.

I want to thank all of you — faculty, classified and unclassified staff, and administrators — who took the time to provide your suggestions and comments. While we may not all agree on how to get there, there is consensus that change is needed and overdue. The compensation concerns that we all share and have been a focus of campus discussion highlight the need to improve our human capital processes to better support our faculty and staff. We will be considering the report and feedback and determine next steps in the coming weeks.

Regards,
