Meredith Whitman, EAB Senior Consultant

The fifth annual K-State/NACADA Undergraduate Academic Advising Winter Institute is set for 1-4:45 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2018, in the Wildcat Chamber at the K-State Student Union.

This year's keynote speaker is EAB's Meredith Whitman, K-State's Student Success Collaborative consultant. Whitman will address "EAB's new vision for a Student Success Management System and the power of coordinated care in relation to student success." The Winter Institute also will include a browsing session featuring K-Staters who participated in the 2017 NACADA annual conference in St. Louis, as well as updates on advisor career ladders, K-State's progress report pilot, and K-State First, Student Governing Association, and Student Access Center initiatives.

The Winter Institute is sponsored by the University Advising Committee and NACADA: The Global Community for Academic Advising, and is free and open to any member of the K-State community. Please register for the Winter Institute online

Whitman also will host a follow-up Student Success Collaborative training on Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2018, in 3121 Business Building. In Session No. 1, from 9-10:30 a.m., Whitman will provide an SSC overview that includes a demonstration of appointment scheduling and use of risk assessment. In Session No. 2, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Whitman will address advanced topics, such as Student Success Collaborative success markers, targeted campaigns, progress and institutional reports. The Student Success Collaborative training sessions are limited to 35 participants. Please register for one or both sessions online.

The registration deadline for both the Winter Institute and Student Success Collaborative training is Friday, Jan. 5, 2018.
