Human Relations Journal chooses entrepreneurship professor's paper as a top 10 submission in 2015

Submitted by Brent Fritzemeier

Kansas State University assistant professor of entrepreneurship Saurav Pathak's study, "What motivates entrepreneurial entry under economic inequality? The role of human and financial capital," was chosen as one of the top 10 papers of 2015 by Human Relations Journal.

The study, which was co-authored by Emanuel Xavier-Oliveira and Andre O. Laplume of Michigan Technological University, provides novel insights into the moderating effects that economic inequality may have on the distinct roles that human and financial capital play on different types of entrepreneurship.

The top 10 award is given to the papers that the journal's editorial team considers best encapsulate broad readership appeal, sound methods, and whose theories advance our understanding of human relations at work.

The journal's editors looked at all of the articles published in 2015 before arriving at a short list of ten articles for consideration as the Paper of the Year. These shortlisted papers covered a very wide variety of topics and methods.

Pathak's paper will be featured as Human Relations' free-access article of the month sometime during 2016.
