Letter from the Vice President for Student Life Pat Bosco

By Pat Bosco

Greetings, K-State faculty and staff,

It's safe to say we've all been busy welcoming new and returning students to campus. It's easy to get caught up in our day-to-day routines, but it's important to remember how special of a place K-State is — we are accomplishing great things!

Our university truly does stand out from the competition and has been recognized by national publications and organizations for the remarkable qualities that define the K-State family and the experience we offer our students. The Princeton Review ranked K-State in four top 10 categories, including No. 4 happiest students in the nation, and No. 6 for highest quality of life. Additionally, Manhattan was recently ranked as the No. 1 college town in the nation, according to Livability.com.

That's just the beginning. At Family Day, Sept. 19, the K-State Marching Band — the Pride of Wildcat Land — will be recognized for winning the Sudler Trophy in December. These are just a few of our recent awards — many more awards and recognitions can be viewed on our university achievements Web page. It's easy to see that there has never been a better time to be a Wildcat!

To celebrate these successes, we've created a flyer that features some of these exciting K-State brags. Departments should be receiving these flyers in the mail in the coming days, and we invite you to hang them up in your hallways, display on bulletin boards or otherwise use them to show off your university. You also may download the flyer at your convenience.

There is no end to what K-Staters can accomplish when we work together. All these awards and recognitions are a direct result of the hard work, dedication and thoughtfulness of K-State's faculty and staff. You care about our students every day and it shows. Thank you.

As we move ahead in achieving our goal of becoming a Top 50 public research university by 2025, let's take time to celebrate how far we've come as a K-State family, and look forward to spreading the good news that is sure to come.

Go 'Cats!
