New departmental EcoReps program beginning in February

Submitted by Ben Champion

The K-State office of sustainability is initiating a new departmental EcoReps program for K-State departments and units across campus.

EcoReps will serve as a communication bridge between their departments and campus energy, recycling and purchasing services. They will share opportunities with their colleagues in each of these areas, providing helpful encouragement for their departments, but they will also share suggestions and ideas from their departments for improving campus energy, recycling/waste, and purchasing services.

Faculty and staff are encouraged to join the program and represent their departments. It's a voluntary program, and the office of sustainability is especially looking for EcoReps who will be champions for improving energy efficiency, reducing waste and buying responsibly in their departments.
