Journalism students win big at Kansas Association of Broadcasters

Submitted by Steve Harvey

K-State journalism students won more television awards in the 2015 Kansas Association of Broadcasters competition than any other university in Kansas, with six first places, four second places and four honorable mentions.

"Broadcast journalism students at K-State are creating very high quality video projects and content in Channel 8 News and Wildcat Watch video productions," said Steve Harvey, journalism news director and instructor. "The students have worked hard and have earned this recognition. They put in a lot of hours of outside class time and I'm very impressed with the student's desires and the stories they produce."

The newscasts are recorded and played back at 6 a.m., noon, 7 p.m. and 11 p.m. every day on Cox Cable Arts channel 8 until the following week's Wednesday broadcast.

Wildcat Watch is a student video production group that creates video projects and three-camera coverage of K-State events.
