Music professor lectures at Gerschefski Colloquium
Craig B. Parker, associate professor of music history, delivered a lecture, "Edwin Gerschefski: a Centennial + 2 Retrospective," at the colloquium: "(Re)introducing Edwin Gerschefski," at the University of Georgia on Dec. 1. Gerschefski (1909-92), an internationally renowned composer whose biography appears in countless music dictionaries, taught at the University of Georgia from 1960 through 1976, and served as head of their School of Music for 12 years. Parker, who studied piano with Gerschefski for three years, has lectured on and performed his music throughout the U. S. and in Zagreb, Croatia.
