About the Lab
The Feed the Future Innovation Lab for Collaborative Research on Sustainable Intensification (SIIL), headquartered at Kansas State University, supports the Feed the Future goals of reducing global hunger, poverty and undernutrition. The first phase of the SIIL runs from September 16, 2014 through September 15, 2019. Funding is authorized up to $50 million which includes funding directly from USAID as the leader award and possible additional funding via associate awards primarily as mission buy-ins.
Funding for the SIIL includes the Geospatial and Farming Systems Research Consortium and the Appropriate Scale Mechanization Consortium. Additionally, research subawards focused on the development and implementation of sustainable intensification practices in the target countries were selected in the fall of 2015.
This project is made possible by the generous support of the American people through the United Stales Agency for International Development (USAID).
