Sharon Isbin, head of Juilliard's guitar department, is recognized as the most influential American guitarist alive. She also is the recipient of multiple Grammy awards and the winner of Guitar Player magazine's Best Classical Guitarist award, the Toronto and Madrid Queen Sofia competitions, and was the first guitarist ever to win the Munich Competition.
