How Sorority Recruitment Works
Getting started
There are several ways to join a sorority at K-State. The most common way is by participating in fall formal recruitment week.
Fall formal recruitment
Sororities that participate
Alpha Chi Omega, Alpha Delta Pi, Alpha Xi Delta, Chi Omega, Delta Delta Delta, Gamma Phi Beta, Kappa Alpha Theta, Kappa Delta, Kappa Kappa Gamma, Pi Beta Phi, and Sigma Kappa.
All of these 11 housed sororities are established member organizations of the National Panhellenic Conference or NPC, with an average NPC sorority size of about 150 undergraduate women.

How it works
Women will fill out a single registration form, which is then distributed to each of the 11 sororities. During recruitment week, each woman visits and learns about each organization and meets current members. Mutal selection allows women to choose the chapters they are most interested in while chapters in turn choose the women they are interested in. Following recruitment, women attend a Bid Day celebration, where they receive their official invitation to join one of our 11 NPC sororities.

Continuous open bidding
Sororities that participate
Participation will vary each year.
How it works
Any chapter whos membership roster falls below 140 members is eligible for continuous open bidding (COB). Some years there are many options, some years there may not be any openings until the spring semester. Typically the most number of openings exist at teh start of the spring semester. If you are interested in COB, please email regarding your interest to Shawn Eagleburger, assistant director of Greek affairs and primary sorority advisor. You will want to include you name and contact information. Shawn will offer direction from there.
Membership intake
Sororities that participate
Alpha Kappa Alpha, Beta Sigma Chi, Delta Sigma Theta, Sigma Gamma Rho, Sigma Lambda Gamma, and Zeta Phi Beta.
These six sororities are much smaller in membership (average size is around 10 members and may include both undergraduate and graduate students) and do not have houses. These sororities do not participate in fall formal recruitment week.
Beta Sigma Chi is a local Christian sorority not part of a national leadership/governing body (such as the NPC).
Sigma Lambda Gamma is a member organization of the National Association of Latino Fraternal Organizations or NALFO.
Alpha Kappa Alpha, Delta Sigma Theta, Sigma Gamma Rho, and Zeta Phi Beta are all member organizations of the National Pan-Hellenic Council or NPHC
How it works
The membership review process involves submitting an application directly to the sorority you're interested in. The sorority holds a series of interviews with prospective members to determine who will receive invitations to join. Check each sorority's website for recruitment dates, details, and contact information.
