Membership dues and fees

Projected dues and fees for membership are developed from the averages of the chapter-reported dues and fees.  Some chapters will assess a number above this projection, some will assess a number below this projection. 

These numbers represent fall 2008 semester projections.

Fraternities

Affiliation dues and fees, one-time expenses: $475

  • This fee is typically assessed by the chapter to cover the costs of new member affiliation. All new members can expect to pay a similary first during the first semester of membership.

Out-of-house member dues and fees: $504/semester

  • This fee is assessed to members living outside of the chapter house to cover expenses such as property use, national and IFC dues, social dues, etc. Typically men live in the chapter house freshmen through junior years and thus pay this fee thier senior year only.

In-house member dues and fees: $2937/semester

  • This fee is assessed to members living in the chapter house to cover room and board expenses (included typically a meal-plan), national and IFc dues, social dues, etc. Typically men live in the chapter house freshmen through junior years.

Sororities

  • This fee is assessed to members living outside of the chapter house to cover expenses such as property use, national and Panhellenic dues, social dues, etc. Typically women live in the chapter house sophomore through junior years and thus pay this fee thier freshmen and senior years only.

  • This fee is assessed to members living in the chapter house to cover room and board expenses (included typically a meal-plan), national and IFc dues, social dues, etc. Typically women live in the chapter house sophomore through junior years.

Interfraternity Council and Panhellenic Council dues

All chapters are assessed a fee by their goverening council (the Interfraternity Council or the Panhellenic Council) to cover opperating expenese.  Budgets are presented to the council  and chapter representatives after careful consideration by the Finance Committee.  Budgets are passed in the spring semester of each year for the following fiscal year wish runs July 1 through June 30.

The following breaks down exactly what each chapter is assessed:

Interfraternity Council

  • Chapter affiliation fees: $75.00/chapter per semester
  • Per capita fee: $20.00/member per semester
  • Per capita new member fee: $60.00/new member

Panhellenic Council

  • Chapter affiliation fees:  $165.00/chapter per semester
  • Per capita fee:  $18.25/member per semester
