Service and Philanthropy

Philanthropy and community service projects

K-State’s fraternities and sororities participate in philanthropy projects to help less fortunate people in our community.

Each year fraternities and sororities contribute more than $200,000, about 30,000 hours, and almost three tons of food to worthy charities such as Special Olympics, Muscular Dystrophy, Cerebral Palsy, Flint Hills Breadbasket, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, the American Heart Association, the Leukemia Society, and Big Brothers/Big Sisters.

Many of these fundraising projects are competitive events that involve all chapter members. Annual events include Earthball, Score for Charity, Up 'Til Dawn, and the Bloodmobile.

These activities not only raise money for worthy causes, but also provide excellent opportunities to meet people and make new friends. Helping others helps us learn about our responsibility to the community.
