 10th Annual Capitol Graduate Research Summit (CGRS)

The following graduate students presented their research posters at the 10th annual Capitol Graduate Research Summit (CGRS) in Topeka on February 14, 2013. The CGRS is an annual showcase of research conducted by graduate students from Kansas State University, Wichita State University, the University of Kansas, and the University of Kansas Medical Center. Participants shared their research posters with state legislators and the Board of Regents.  At the CGRS, two judges (one from academics and one from industry) selected the top two presenters from each participating university to receive a $500 scholarship sponsored by KansasBio.

The K-State Research Forum (KRF) is an annual showcase of research, scholarly, and creative activities conducted by undergraduate and graduate students from all disciplines at K-State. This on-campus event provides K-State students an opportunity to share their activities with the K-State community and to gain experience presenting their work in a professional setting.

Research and the State
Graduate Student Poster Session

Research and the State is an event at which graduate students present their scholarly research to the K-State community and discuss the implications their research has for important state-related issues: quality and cost of education, education outcomes, healthcare, economic development, bioscience, military relations and military families, roads and transportation, security, energy and alternative energy sources, technology, water, wind energy, tax policy, animal health, rural development, defense industry research, tourism (particularly in Flint Hills), school finance issues. 

K-State judges select the top nine* presenters to represent K-State at the annual Capitol Graduate Research Summit (CGRS) in the spring.  

*As of September 14, 2012, the number of CGRS presenters for 2013 has been changed from ten to nine.

Research and the State is free and open to the public.
