Faculty and Staff

The Graduate School has been working with the Division of Information Technology to transition all Graduate School student forms to Softdocs Etrieve, K-State’s new enterprise electronic form and workflow solution. Softdocs provides more user-friendly access, easier processing and easy tracking of approval status.

Beginning May 30, students and support staff/faculty who access Graduate School forms via our webpage will be directed to the new forms created in Softdocs Etrieve and links to our forms on the Decisions platform will be redirected to the Softdocs Etrieve forms. The Decisions form workflow platform will remain active for 30 days to allow any forms that are currently in progress (submitted prior to May 30) to complete the approval workflow.

The webpage for Graduate School forms remains the same and individual form links will be directed to the Softdocs Etrieve forms:

Training Video
The Division of Information Technology conducted and recorded a virtual training session that is now available via Teams Grad-Resources.

Graduate Student Success

In June, the Graduate School will host a series of “Getting Started” Zoom sessions to support incoming students with their onboarding at K-State and with the start of their graduate career. The Graduate School is sending Information about these sessions directly to graduate students admitted for the fall 2023 semester. We appreciate help from graduate programs with sharing this information with students. All sessions will be recorded and made available for students who are unable to attend live.

Session topics and times:

    • June 7 – Enrollment, Billing, and Making Payments, 1:30pm
    • June 12 – Preparing for Your Assistantship, 11:00am
    • June 16 and 21 – Making Your Move to the U.S., 9:00am
    • June 20 – A session for non-Manhattan campus students, 7:00pm

In August, the Graduate School will host a welcome session for all new graduate students. There will be an in-person session and a virtual session. Tentatively, both sessions will be held on August 16. Details will be finalized in the coming weeks.

Visit the Incoming Graduate Students section of our website for more information. Questions may be directed to Dr. Megan Miller (mmmiller@ksu.edu, 532-6191).

Funding for Graduate Students

Graduate Student Council travel award applications are due June 1 for travel to professional events or to support registration fees for virtual events that begin any time in August.

What if I’m still waiting for a response on my presentation submission? Students who plan to attend a conference and submitted a presentation but haven’t been notified yet if the presentation is accepted for the conference should still complete the GSC travel award application by June 1, and report that they plan to give a presentation. If allocated a travel award, the amount will be pending until the student submits documentation verifying that the presentation was accepted.
