Carolyn Elliott

Short Biography:

I was born and raised in Wichita, KS. I have one younger brother, who is still in the Wichita area, my parents died in the 1990's. Many years ago I came to Manhattan as an incoming freshman. Where I met my husband we have 4 children. Of our 4 children we have 2 girls and 2 boys. Our youngest Andi graduated from K-State 2007 spring. One son is deceased. My older daughter Connie and her family live in Rockland, MA courtesy of the US Army. My son Michael and his family live in Columbus, OH where he will graduate from The Ohio State University in December. I have 2 grandsons Nickolas and Ace. We don't get to see enough of either of them as they live out of state. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Management and Ethics from Manhattan Christian College in 1997.

Brief Work History:

I have been employed at K-State since February 2005, in the Office of Student Life as an Administrative Specialist. Prior to that I worked at the Riley County Police Department, and Mercy Regional Health Center.

Personal Interests:

One of my favorite pastimes is quilting I assisted in the organization of 3 quilt guilds, Konza Prairie Quilt Guild, Prairie Star Quilt and the Kansas Quilters Organization. I also was the Coordinator for the first quilt retreat in Kansas many years ago. I am also a quilt judge. Through the years I have made quilts for my family and friends. I enjoy reading and am in a monthly book club that aids in reading books I may never pick up. I enjoy gardening and am a Riley County Master Gardener. I enjoy photography, singing and do some genealogy. Through the years I have worked with the Girl Scouts, Boy Scout, 4-H clubs and youth groups for my church.

Additional Comments:

I am a Safe Zone Ally and am happy when I can assist students with their difficulties. I am also learning about the workings of the Classified Senate and enjoying the opportunity to work with the other senators in assisting the classified employees here at Kansas State University.
