AMI Selects Students for Internships

Manhattan, Kan., August 26, 2009 – The Advanced Manufacturing Institute at Kansas State University has selected several students to serve internships in the fall 2009 semester.

The institute's internship program allows undergraduate and graduate students to advance their knowledge and skills through experience with client projects while being supervised by professionals.

"The work I have done at AMI has allowed me to expand on what I have learned in class, given me the opportunity to apply my knowledge to real projects and increased my confidence, said Jacob Benteman, junior in mechanical engineering, Waterville. "I feel certain that the experience I have gained during my internship at AMI will give me an edge when I begin my job search upon graduation."

Also serving as Advanced Manufacturing Institute interns are:

Daniel Maslen, junior in chemical engineering, Arkansas City; Keith Simmons, junior in mechanical engineering, Erie.

From Greater Kansas City: Liz Sullivan, junior in mass communications, Leawood; Kyle Warren, senior in mechanical engineering, and Nick Clattenburg, junior in mechanical engineering, both of Lenexa; and Matt Campbell, master's student in mechanical engineering, Overland Park.

Mollie Winter, sophomore in pre-journalism and mass communications, Manhattan; and Shaun Rucker, master's student in business administration, Peabody.
