University recognizes 12 students with Dean of Student Life Outstanding Graduating Senior Award

MANHATTAN — Kansas State University Vice President for Student Life and Dean of Students Thomas Lane has selected 12 students for the Dean of Student Life Outstanding Graduating Senior Award.

Inaugurated in 1999, the award recognizes seniors on the Manhattan campus and the Kansas State Polytechnic Campus in Salina for their significant contributions to student life during their time at K-State. Staff members in the Division of Student Life nominate students they find deserving of the award. Final award winners are recommended to Lane by a committee of student life staff members.

"Each of our Outstanding Graduating Senior awardees has made a unique contribution to improving student life at K-State," Lane said. "It is an honor to recognize and thank them for the impactful leadership they have consistently shown throughout their time as a student. I am confident they will continue to do K-State proud as they transition to alumni and I am excited to see what their future holds for them."

The following students are recipients of the Dean of Student Life Outstanding Graduating Senior Award:

Carmen Del Real, biology and Spanish, Dodge City;Ashton Hess, geography and history, and Brian Hernandez Mota, marketing, both from Lenexa;Hannah Heatherman, finance and management, Ottawa; Madison Brown, finance, and Siddarth Jambunathan, architecture, both from Shawnee;Nathan Bothwell, political science and communication studies, Tonganoxie; andLily Hurt, food science and industry, Wichita.

From out of state: Jansen Penny, industrial engineering, Burlington, Colorado; and Logan Long, political science, Woodward, Oklahoma.

From out of country: Pranav Savanur, human health biology, India; and Satoru Okada, aeronautical technology-professional pilot, Japan.
