HomeResearch in the Rio Grande rift area of southern Colorado
During the year, Mary Hubbard and Jack Oviatt continued to work with students investigating the tectonic development of the northern end of the Rio Grande rift in south central Colorado. We had one Master's student successfully complete her thesis from this research in August of 2003. Hubbard co-led a field trip through the area as part of the Geological Association of America national meeting and this trip initiated some useful discussion and possibly future collaboration with geologists from around the country.
