Graduate Program Directors

Fall Graduate Student Orientation

The Graduate School and other campus support units will host welcome and orientation activities for new graduate students admitted to graduate programs for the summer and fall 2018 terms during the week of August 13th. A schedule of sessions and activities is available on the Graduate School website, and an online registration form is now available. Earlier this week, incoming graduate students who have accepted their admission offer in CollegeNet were sent a direct email notifications about orientation. To ensure that all students receive this information, graduate programs are encouraged to promote graduate student orientation activities to their new and current graduate students. 

Graduate Faculty

Call for Notable Scholarly Achievements - Deadline extended

The Graduate Student Council Awards and Recognition Committee would like to recognize graduate students who have made notable scholarly achievements, such as awards at conferences, research forums, teaching awards, etc., or who have made exceptional contributions to the research knowledge-base or other scholarly contributions to their discipline. Submissions are being accepted for achievements made from March 28 to July 13, 2018. Submissions are being accepted until 5:00pm this Friday, July 20th. 


Graduate Students

Reminder about Graduate Student Space in Eisenhower Hall

Due to the Hale Library fire, many graduate students may be in need of a work space this summer. As a reminder, the Graduate School has space available on the third floor of Eisenhower Hall. Reservations are not required; students may drop in and use any of the open spaces. 

Graduate Student Council Travel Awards

Recipients of GSC travel awards for September are posted on the GSC travel awards website. August 1 is the deadline for graduate students to apply for GSC travel awards to attend academic and professional events that begin anytime in October.

Summer 2018 Graduation Deadlines

Graduate students planning to graduate in summer 2018 are encouraged to review graduation information, especially the deadlines for graduation and ETDR submission. August 10 is the deadline to have all requirements completed for summer graduation.
