New Graduate Faculty Workshop

The Graduate School administrative team invites all graduate faculty who have been approved to graduate faculty status to the New Graduate Faculty Workshop. This year we are offering two session (the information presented at both will be identical, you need only attend one session), Wednesday November 2, 2016 from 3-5 p.m. in Room 207 (Student Union) and Thursday November 3, 2016 10:00am-12:00pm in room 207 (Student Union). The workshop is designed to assist you in understanding your new roles and responsibilities. Valuable information and handouts will be provided electronically to assist you in enhancing your success in your new role. Distinguished Graduate Faculty Award Lecture

Hear from one of the 2016-17 Distinguished Graduate Faculty Award recipients, Dr. Zongzhu Lin, professor of mathematics, today, Tuesday, Nov. 1 at 2 p.m. in the K-State Union, Big 12 Room. Lin will present Geometric Representation Theory; a tour for Non-mathematicians and potential applications in other fields.

Research and the State

Mark your calendars and plan to attend the graduate student research poster competition, Research and the State. Graduate students will be presenting their research on Wednesday, November 2 between 1-3 p.m. in the K-State Union Courtyard. 

Graduate School Commencement is right around the corner- register your attendance today!

The fall 2016 commencement ceremony is scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday, December 9 in Bramlage Coliseum. Faculty who want to participate in commencement are required to complete the online registration form no later than December 2.

Transcript Video

The Graduate School created a transcript video that is now available within the application and located on our website at the following URL: http://www.k-state.edu/grad/admissions/application-process/. The video explains the transcripts we need with the application, along with providing examples of transcripts we accept and do not accept. Even if an applicant is a previous K-State student providing copies of transcripts is required. Feel free to direct students to our video for guidance or direct any questions to Camila Haselwood.

Minimum requirements for English

The Graduate School is now reviewing only the total score for the following tests: IBT TOEFL, TOEFL, IELTS, and Pearson Test of English. The minimum score needed for each of the tests is provided. 

Annual Updates for the Graduate School application within CollegeNET 2016 are now LIVE

The annual updates that were submitted for the Graduate School application for 2016 are now LIVE. If you have any questions about the changes, please email Camila Haselwood.  You can go through the application at any time, URL: https://www.applyweb.com/kstateg/index.ftl. with username: grad@ksu.edu and password is Graduate2016.  

PROSPECT access given, first automated email needed

Graduate Program Directors and Contact Staff should have access to Prospect, our communication tool within CollegeNET, to manage communications for prospective and in-progress applicants. You can now view students that have started their applications and communicate with them. We request that you check to ensure that you have access to Prospect as a Graduate Program Director and a Contact Staff member. If anything is missing or you don't have access, please contact Camila Haselwood. Please send your program's first automated email to Camila Haselwood

Graduate Student Opportunities 

Electronic Theses, Dissertations, and Reports (ETDR) formatting changes starting spring 2017 semester

Beginning in the Spring 2017 semester, the Graduate School will only accept Electronic Theses, Dissertations, and Reports (ETDR) formatted with the following new requirements: Document title uses "Sentence case"; Author name uses standard capitalization format; Copyright statement has a new one-line format.
