Why Rush?
Being a part of a fraternity may seem like a lot of work, but like any worthwhile activity, it requires an investment of one’s time. The time invested into Delt over your years spent here will be repaid to you tenfold throughout your lifetime. Through our fraternity, you learn how to balance campus involvement, academics, and social life. While each fraternity has its own strengths and weaknesses, we strive on the development of each person’s character, social skills, lifelong friendships, service to the community, and academic achievement. It cannot be stressed enough, but each person should seek the fraternity that best fits your personality and needs. It is our goal to make our fraternity your fraternity.
Why Delta Tau Delta?
At Delta Tau Delta, it is our goal to make your
college experience a memorable one. Academics, athletics, brotherhood,
philanthropy, and social life are important aspects of all of college students
and especially Delts, which make us
leaders on campus. It is also important that you find the right fraternity for
you, so Delta Tau Delta encourages you to take the time to see what our
fraternity has to offer as well as the other fraternities on KSU campus.
Academics
Academics are a vital part of any fraternity, Delta Tau Delta
being no different. In order to be initiated, each new member must meet an
academic requirement of 2.35 GPA. With three study rooms, a variety of majors
within the house, test files, and a mandatory of 17 study hours a week, Delta
Tau Delta provides everything you need to be successful with your classes.
In addition to requirements, Delta Tau Delta encourages academic achievement
throughout your time spent in the house. Whether it is offering gift
certificates for A's on tests or papers, awarding scholarships for members
above a 3.5 GPA, or holding a steak dinner every semester for members with an
above 3.0 GPA, Delta Tau Delta helps push our members to their fullest
potential.
Athletics
As Delts, we also take part a special interest in intramurals. Our flag football, basketball, volleyball, soccer, and many individual representatives are a constant threat to their opponents. Our softball team is the heart and soul of our intramural program with several first place finishes in the last 5 years. Kansas State offers a variety of intramural sports for teams as well as individuals. They include such sports as racquetball, tennis, 2-on-2 volleyball, 1-on-1 basketball, and a slew of many more to keep you and your team busy throughout the year.
Brotherhood
Something that Delta Tau Delta is particularly strong in is brotherhood. Brotherhood makes a fraternity work. It doesn’t matter if you’re studying or just hanging out, there is always a brother there for you. It is important for members to feel accepted and be a part of something will continue even after the college experience. Through such activities as tailgating, capture the flag, Sunday night "Delt Movie Projects," and Mom's and Dad's Weekends, Delta Tau Delta promotes the forming of lifelong relationships between its members.
Philanthropy
Delts participate in several
philanthropies throughout the year. During the school year, Delts every Tuesday
and Thursday partake in Adopt-A-School, a program where Delts help tutor grade
school students. We also help pick up trash along Manhattan’s roads for
Adopt-A-Highway. We, Delta Tau Delta have been asked, due to our outstanding
performance in past endeavors, to take full administrative duties in planning
and carrying out the Salvation Army's "Toy's For Tots" Campaign. We also
hold a 3-on-3 basketball tournament with sorority Alpha Chi Omega every spring.
Including our own philanthropies, we also like to participate in others, such as
the Alpha Delta Pi Softball Classic, Alpha Xi Delta Greek Games, Kappa Kappa
Gamma Earthball, and several other philanthropies sponsored by area fraternites
and sororities, all benefiting area charities and organizations.

Social
By this time, you probably thing
that our fraternity is all work and no play. Believe me, Delts know how to
have a good time. With Homecoming, Delta Force, Stag Weekend, Scary Party and
various other functions, the fall
can be an exhilarating time. Along with these parties, we also have our Purple
Iris Formal, Delt
BBQ, and several theme parties in the spring. It is also easy to meet several
girls from different sororities by the functions we have all year long.
Homecoming is a very enjoyable time at Delta Tau Delta with several parties and
activities before and throughout the week.
Hazing
Delta Tau Delta is a haze-free organization. We are committed to our new members' education and development and find hazing nothing more that a road black that has the potential to push our work back or even erase it. As a fraternity, we are here to teach responsibility, leadership, and friendship. New members meet each week with the Pledge Educator to learn about the university and the fraternity. We make the effort to make your transition from high school to college as easy as possible and do all this without hazing. Please refer to our greek affairs website for a full explanation of KSU's hazing policy: KSU Greek Affairs Hazing Policy.
Cost
Our fraternity is self-supported by our members. The total cost per semester is $1850, or $480 a month. This cost covers rent, food, academic supplies, rush and utilities. When you move into Delta Tau Delta you are supplied with a bed, closet, desk (in study room or personal room), and dresser. Also included in the cost is a broadband DSL internet connection and cable. Our price is competitive with other fraternities on campus, but more importantly it is competitive with dormitories. Each new member pays a once only pledge due of $60 dollars, which covers you new member pin and materials. Each active pays an annual due to the National Fraternity of $80 dollars. This funds for national programs such as DTAA (Delts Talk About Alcohol), in which a member of Nationals goes to each chapter in his region and talk about the responsibilities of alcohol.
